What if...?
After a long time, I saw a great movie at a cinema hall. Yun Hota to Kya Hota lives up to the expectations set by the credentials of its cast. Four brilliantly woven stories, each deserving of its own movie, converge to the same climax.
[Spoiler Alert: Stop here if you haven't seen the movie yet and do not want to spoil your first viewing]
The first half was so engrossing and one was left trying to figure out what's going on in each of the four stories, how the chaos in each one will attain its own order, that it was difficult to even imagine they could converge.
It was only halfway through the second half that I remembered reading about the movie's depiction of 9/11. That still didn't spoil the rest of the movie for me, it was so beautifully rendered. The scene where the plane crashes into the building left me shivering in my seat, much more than any news coverage has done in these past five years. I guess, one needs to feel some association with the characters in a tragedy to actually feel even a part of it.
All in all, a brilliant movie which beautifully handles a delicate issue and still makes an impact.
